Alan Cutler first came to Lexington, Kentucky in 1981 as local NBC affiliate Channel 18's sports anchor. He quickly gained recognition for his insightful reporting and ability to get the inside story. Cutler's Friday night show, which he started in 1982, the popular and award winning "The World Famous Prep Report" was the first of its kind in Kentucky. Another well respected media personality in Kentucky has described Alan's work as such "no media person in the Commonwealth has done more to give publicity to high school athletes than Alan Cutler." Cutler left Lexington in 1984 to pursue a career opportunity in Pittsburgh. For three years, he covered sports for KDKA-TV and hosted a popular sports-talk show on KDKA radio. Part of that time he also provided color commentary for KDKA-TV's Pittsburgh Pirates telecasts. In 1987, married and with a young family to raise, Cutler sought a return to the quality of life he had come to appreciate during his time in Lexington. He moved back to the Bluegrass and resumed sportscasting duties for Channel 18. He's now widely known for breaking many exclusive stories on University of Kentucky basketball and football.
